Chris Moody is one of the most prominent young leaders in the Church of God. He is a passionate person ... whether watching a basketball game at Lee University or preaching to hundreds of people in a convention ... his passion is evident.
Chris has previously served at the Lead Pastor of the South Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. He helped lead that congregation through a relocation and re-envisioning of the church's ministry. More recently, he was appointed to be the State Overseer in Mississippi. I am not completely sure, but I believe that Chris Moody is the youngest State Overseer we have in the movement. This tells me that he is someone to watch. There's no doubt that he is well connected and anointed. Those two ingredients are important if one desires to lead on a larger platform.
While in Mississippi, Bishop Moody had led the charge to raise up younger leaders. He initiated the SHIFT Emphasis which is an acronym for: Students; Harvest; Intercessory Prayer; Fathers of Faith and Training Leaders. This is more than just a good slogan because he has been able to invest $200,000.00 in this program.
In addition to the SHIFT Emphasis, while State Overseer, he has seen three churches remolded and two church relaunched. They also have plans to plant new works on the coast, Oxford and South Haven.
Like I said, Chris is connected to the older generation and yet has the passion of the younger generation. May God continue to bless him in his ministry.
