Travis Hovde planted Eagles Wings Community Fellowship in Minot, North Dakota in 2003. So often in our movement, we focus on vibrant churches in the South and as a result we do not get to know young leaders like Travis Hovde.
In years past, Minot, ND was a regional hub for the Church of God especially when Northwest Bible College was serving the church. After the college closed, we lost a training center for young leaders. Today, Church of God leaders like Travis Hovde and Jeff Herber are shaping a new generation of leaders.
Bio from church's website
On Easter Sunday of 2003, Pastor Travis and a handful of young adults held the first worship service at Eagles Wings. Beginning as a young adult outreach, we organized as a church in the fall of the same year. Since then, Eagles Wings has grown into a vibrant church with contemporary worship, relevant, Biblical teaching and a passionate desire to lift up Christ and communicate his Message to our community. The journey of our church has been covered with the fingerprints of God. Through every season, we have experienced His Provision, Love, Blessing, Grace and Providence. We have learned that when we get real with God, He gets real with us. We invite you to make your story part of our story and together, we will become a part of His story.
Travis is married to DeEtte and together they are raising their three children while pastoring Eagles Wings C.F. He is an ordained Bishop in the Church of God and serves on the Regional Council of North Central Region Church of God. Although Travis had open heart surgery at the young age of 13, he has never let that slow him down in serving the Lord. He loves fishing & traveling and is currently writing his first book.
DeEtte has a heart to teach children the word of God "at a child's level." While she and her husband raise their children she also loves spending time as a family and finds this very important as a part of their ministry to Eagles Wings. Her strength comes from the Lord and with the love the Lord has shown her she strives to be an example to God's love to others.
