I met Samuel Santana nearly ten years ago and immediately I was touched by his tender heart for lost people. We talked about our local churches and dreamed of the ministry that could be accomplished. Since that time, God has expanded Sam's ministry exponentially.
Here's Sam's official bio:
Samuel Santana is an Administrative Bishop of the Church of God who began his full-time ministry in 1985. He has served the Lord in many capacities, among them; International Evangelist, State Youth and Christian Education Director, State Evangelism and Home Missions Director, State Secretary Treasurer, Coordinator of Hispanic Ministries for the International Youth and Christian Education Department in Cleveland, Tennessee. Beginning in 1999, he and his wife served for ten years as Senior Pastors of New Life Ministries, a vibrant congregation in Tucson Arizona that experienced tremendous growth during their tenure to over 1500 in regular weekly attendance. In August of 2008, Brother Santana was appointed as the Administrative Bishop of the Churches of God in the Southwest Region of the United States.
Here's an article from the Faith News Network of the Church of God:
Bishop Samuel Santana, who along with his wife Yvette, oversee the Southwestern Spanish Region for the Church of God, was selected to serve as one of the six pastors on Focus on the Family’s Pastor Ambassador Team (P.A.T.). Focus on the Family is an interdenominational ministry in Colorado Springs, Colorado, founded by Dr. James Dobson.
This new ministry endeavor will strive to provide relevant and practical information to help pastors and congregations. Bishop Santana’s focus will be as Ambassador to Spanish speaking pastors and their congregations. This new ministry focus will also have as part of their portfolio an intense social media component with the PAT members tweeting, blogging and writing for Focus on the Family’s newsletters.
“Bishop Sam Santana and First Lady, Yvette, are magnificent leaders whose gifts have more than qualified them for this exciting opportunity,” stated Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams. “This expanded platform of influence will strategically position Sam and the Church of God to resource the Kingdom in new and exciting ways.”
Director of Hispanic Ministries for the Church of God, Carlos Moran, said, “Bishop Santana has represented the Church of God and Hispanic Ministries well. We celebrate this accomplishment and congratulate him on this accomplishment.
